You know it's not a normal long weekend of travel when the part involving the airplanes is the most hassle-free aspect of the whole affair.

Southwest was bloody flawless:
- Tampa -> New Orleans = early
- New Orleans -> Vegas = early
- Vegas -> Tampa... what do you mean, "Vegas -> Denver -> Tampa"? (ticket says Vegas -> Tampa; apparently, because we don't get off the plane, it doesn't show up on the itinerary; it'd be nice if we'd known that ahead of time)

My parents are each their own flavor of crazy, but all ultimately went well. We had an excellent home base, right on the strip, next to the Bellagio and across from Millenium Mall.

Wedding itself was nice, if delayed 45 minutes (which is good; we'd turned the wrong way on the strip heading for Old Vegas and would have arrived with about nine seconds to spare otherwise). Sis laid the smack down on the officiant not once but twice; "Ring goes on THIS hand," and "I now present to you Mister and Missus M_____," "MIZ B____." (assembled hordes laugh)

I'd never met any of my new BIL's family; his brother is like a 150% scale version of [livejournal.com profile] aishlynn's; his daughters are gorgeous; his sister could be [livejournal.com profile] matociquala's stunt double.

Walked a lot. Found The Cow at the Bellagio and beat $30 out of its hide (for the weekend, I ended up about $15, not counting food/drink). Lots of fuck-ugly people; fair amount of eye candy. Did I mention we walked a lot? (Mandalay Bay -> Caesar's Palace is a pretty good hike)

I managed to stab myself in the knuckle with a buffet crab and bled most of the weekend.

The Neice was good; she charmed many with her three-year-old-style exhortations of "Vegas, Baby!"

Coming home was much-needed, though the cats had wreaked havoc (one antique mirror paid the ultimate price); they went to the vet yesterday for a case of conjunctivitis and some other stuff.

Yesterday, day off to "recover," was spent running amok to do some C14 venue wrangling with [livejournal.com profile] theonebob.

Today, work. Bleh.
