The Friday Five
1. What vehicle do you drive?
Zim, a 2003 Mazda Protoge5
2. How long have you had it?
Just under seven months.
3. What is the coolest feature on your vehicle?
I like the in-dash 6CD changer, but the subwoofer that's integrated with the spare tire [!!!] is pretty fucking cool. Hard to get geeked about the performance of a 4 cyl econobox, even if it -does- have 16" alloys.
4. What is the most annoying thing about your vehicle?
Did I mention that it's 4 cylinders and front drive? Rear drive is the One True Powertrain, thanks.
5. If money were no object, what vehicle would you be driving right now?
The BMW M3 barely edges out the new 350Z [maybe. . . ask me after lunch].
3 Books Meme
1) 3 books you use most often for reference
- The dictionary [okay, I cheat and use dictionary.com, but that's because I'm usually bitchslapping someone online]
- The Stand [stephen king]
- Probably some cyberpunk book, though if it's Gibson or Stephenson, I don't know.
2) 3 books you read on "high rotation"
- Gibson's "Neuromancer/Count Zero/Mona Lisa Overdrive" series
- Stephenson's ouevre [all four of 'em that I own]
- King's "The Stand" and "Dark Tower"
- Honorable mention to Brust's Taltos/Jhereg series
3) 3 books you read for comfort
See above.
4) 3 books you really ought to read
- Carrie [King. I have this one, but it hasn't been pulled to the queue for some reason]
- Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas [HST]
That's it, really. I can't think of any particular gaps in my pleasure reading that I'm feeling particularly acute pangs about. Suggestions are welcome.
5) 3 books you will never read
War and Peace
Ulysses
Wuthering Heights
You can pretty much put anything from that era in here - I'm a big cretin when it comes to loathing "classical" literature, because it bores the ever-living fuck out of me.

It's so cold, let me in your window...
The song, of course, is the shit. :)
Re: It's so cold, let me in your window...
but (predictably), i LOVE the book!
Re: Fav. car...
I think Audi (boo, hiss - I know) has an even more powerful station wagon. (just looked it up - 340 HP)
And then of course you've got the Subaru Outback WRX, available as a wagon, 300 HP, 4 wheel drive, and the balls to jump off a cliff and climb back up, just for shits and giggles.
Something about a Family Truckster kicking the hell out of Mustang GTs and Porshce Boxsters just gives me a stiffy. Anybody can lust after a Ferrari or a Lamborghini, but it takes a particularly sick fuck to lust after a station wagon.
Re: Fav. car...
but i'd rather get the S4 sedan. . . . wooooooooooooooooooooosh!
