What's Everyone Doing May 26-28, 2006?

Wanna come to Tampa for C:12, or shouldn't I bother putting a bid submission in?

Umm...I don't know, man. That's kind of a long drive.

i thought you guys were definitely bidding!

[identity profile] angldst.livejournal.com 2005-04-04 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
Put in a bid, hon! I'll look it over, and if i like it, well, there you have it. Tampa would be nearly driveable for me, so, rar.

Could you ping Rick to see if he got my email? That'd be the first thing I'll ask of ya. :-)

There was brief mention of this tonight while we were out and the consensus among those present was to vote for Tampa instead of NOLA if you both put in bids.

[identity profile] angel-renewed.livejournal.com 2005-04-04 01:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but the average goth sees NOLA and goes 'oh thppppoooooky! NOLA! OMG ANNE RICE AND LESTAT!!!'

Feh.
I like NOLA, but I've been to 2 cons (one of which really lived up to the name) there already.

Should you?? YESYESYESYESYESYESYESY!!!

You know my feeling on the matter. However, should you decide to put a submission in, you have my full support and offer of help.

[identity profile] etcet.livejournal.com 2005-04-04 11:51 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I know. At this point, I'm hesitating because I think Tampa might win, and am juggling that against the other possibilities we've discussed.

[identity profile] angel-renewed.livejournal.com 2005-04-04 01:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm with Bob on this one. I see Vancouver and NOLA as strong contenders this year. I just don't think people outside of Tampa get how cool the place is and how STRONG our goth scene is compared to....say... New Orleans.

[Which, while being cool, has crap for a real goth scene]

[identity profile] kungfugimp.livejournal.com 2005-04-04 01:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd vote for it - and offer assistance if needed.

[identity profile] tylorael.livejournal.com 2005-04-04 02:59 pm (UTC)(link)
You know you've got me.

[identity profile] geeki.livejournal.com 2005-04-04 03:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Actually that is quite a possibility... we're looking at honeymoon cruise right around then.

[identity profile] etcet.livejournal.com 2005-04-04 05:44 pm (UTC)(link)
There are cruises that leave from Tampa, but far more on the east coast. [livejournal.com profile] angel_renewed is the expert in that area, however.

[identity profile] ladysoleil.livejournal.com 2005-04-04 03:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd vote for ya.

I like NOLA and would like to see it again, but then again, I really don't need to bunk down with any more giant roaches. I'd vote for y'all.

(and you can certainly press me into service if required, as well.)

The roaches in NOLA are more giant than the roaches here? Wow. That just killed any desire I *ever* had to go to NOLA. Completely. Stone cold dead.

Topic? Frankly, that weekend is a good candidate for me to be in Canada, so I don't think I can even offer help should you run a successful bid.

[identity profile] etcet.livejournal.com 2005-04-04 05:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I know. May Two-Four Weekend is a biggie.

And, yes, the Nola Roaches make the ones we have here look like pikers. Of course, they, much like many of the locals, are fat and slow-moving, and easily outwitted.

Especially since it's followed by Memorial Day a week later.

The idea of hard-to-outwit roaches disturbs me greatly. I mean, it's not like they have brains to speak of.

[identity profile] angel-renewed.livejournal.com 2005-04-05 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
These roaches were wily, I tell you. MUTANT roaches for sure.

Perhaps radioactive?

I must now drink and ponder...

[identity profile] ladysoleil.livejournal.com 2005-04-04 07:01 pm (UTC)(link)
It's disturbing when I make Convergence decisions based on fear of giant vermin.

But yes, comparing the NOLA roaches I've seen vs the FL roaches I've seen...the NOLA vermin is taking steroids or something.

Either that or the pest control is better in Florida, because I've stayed in quite a few FL hotels and have yet to witness any sharing my room, or more to the point, my bed. (I'm not saying they don't exist, I'm just saying I didn't see them existing, which is fine by me...)

Well, yes, but it's something I can completely understand.

DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[identity profile] etcet.livejournal.com 2005-04-04 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Do I detect a note of subtle endorsement? ;-)

[identity profile] carriemonster.livejournal.com 2005-04-05 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
we all know I am about as subtle as a hurricane!

seriously though, I'll help in any way just hollar at me :)
