tonight's original scheduled programming of me bitching and whining has been suspended.

K was carjacked tonight on her way home from work - some crackhead motherfucker [and, yes, i think i'm justified when i call this particular black person the n-word in every malicious sense] punched in her passenger window and grabbed her purse and totebag - made off with her license, credit cards, checkbook, palm pilot, some other stuff.

we have just spent the last three hours in a parking lot, talking to police, etc. they were not able to apprehend the shitfucker, but k was able to make an ID from a police lineup book.

the important thing is that K is unharmed, just pissed off and jumpy. i've taken care of the window with duct tape and plastic, and she's on the phone as we speak cancelling credit cards, getting the car insurance company involved to fix the window.

I know you're out there, you fucking scumbag. And I =will= kill you.

according to the detective and the cops, there has been a spate of these over the last couple of days; same MO, etc. apparently, it also happened last year.

That is terrifying. I'm glad she's mostly ok. I hope they catch the fucker! When my purse was stolen 2 years ago, I got a call from Detroit cops the next day, they found the guy and my purse mostly intact, I hope it goes as well for you two.

I've had two attempted carjackings -- having lived in the worst neighborhoods of DC and Baltimore, #2 and #3 in the nation for crime rate, it's not that surprising. The first time I almost ran the guy over, the second time I slammed his head in my car door. But given the scenario you just described, I don't think there was anything she could have done.

I hope they get the bastard.
