Today's redeeming feature is that the boss is out of the office at a court appointment for a client this morning, because I came in to. . . well, stacks of shit all over my desk and a post it note with an arrow on it pointing to an error message that Outlook Express had popped up who-knows-how-long-ago [said error being directly attributable to the boss' inabilty to type, and inserting a colon into a string of email addresses to a big group of people. . . . said group of people were being sent an apology for not emailing them properly previously.[1]

So, was in the process of deciphering the scrawled notations all over everything, putting stuff together, and figuring out just how far back you chatty bitches require my jouenal spelunking to begin (heh), when the other guy comes in and says, very apologetically, "You're going to get to retype this thing the Coast Guard sent [our client, who subsequently faxed it to us] so that we can make a point-by-point rebuttal or confirmation. It's. . oh, a dozen pages. Glee. Most of it "mea maxima culpa" for apparently sending a piece of complete shite to the USCG sometime around the first of the year, which, naturally, will make the boss behave like a complete freak because he's got supreme editorial review responsibility around here, and missed a metric fuckton of stuff, apparently - it will be uninteresting and stressful to see if he re/misdirects that anxiety towards me.

[livejournal.com profile] jlasher - someone mentioned the potential for a job with some network contact of yours; please please please say it can be done remotely. Preferably from Colorado.

Everyone else, cross those fingers that [livejournal.com profile] aishlynn's interview with the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is successful this Saturday.

My CX recap will have to wait.

[1] I do so love the passive-aggressive bullshit my boss has no idea he's doing. I send meeting announcements to the same 77 people every two months, and sent the date correction to the selfsame distro list two weeks ago - I get the same eight or ten delivery failures every single time. It's not my fault that a) people don't give us current or correctly-spelled contact info, or b) don't read the meeting announcements.
