critus, angel_renewed and thoemeringue have got their comments on yesterday's weather posted this morning, and I don't have much to add.

The only storm-related problem I've got is poison ivy on the inside of my right elbow, probably from when I was helping board up my neighbor's windows.  I'm glad that's the extent of it.  I'm buying plywood and a new cordless drill/screwdriver before the next time.

You might want to keep some around if you're in crud infested areas...when I was living in rural NJ I should have just bought stock in this company, I got the ivy so often.

i think i picked it up across the street. i've been using absorbine jr. and just picked up some hydrocortisone ointment, in additon to my usual anti-allergy once-a-day pill.

seeing the $40 pricetag for the "15 doees per tube" stuff made me opt for the four dollar solution.

thanks. all the buildup led to nothing, but, in retrospect, i didn't do a good enough job of securing the house if the storm had walked straight over. that's an oversight that won't be repeated... i've got myself a power drill to affix window covers next time.

hurricanes scare me. i'm glad i've never been in one; tornadoes are scary enough. glad everything worked out all right!
