(spawned by one of AngelSil's threads)
Nobody's happy.
Everybody's happy.
Nobody's everybody.
Everybody's nobody.
Everyone has regrets, dreams, all that good shit. How they deal with their unchangable past and indefinite future has no real bearing on how you do it, how I do it, or how we can tell each other to do it.
Would we all want to change things we've done? Yup. Can we? Nope. Are we going to worry about the future even though, writ large, we can't do much about it? Yup.
What we -do- have control over is what we do RIGHT NOW.
Okay, having spouted all that nothing, do I have a point? Not really. Well, maybe.
Don't be hard on yourself, be good to yourself, because there are far more things out there in the wide world who will be bad to you than then there are which will do you good. It's fine and dandy to want to push yourself to be better (healthier, wealthier, whatever-er), but when you're making yourself miserable because you're not perfect RIGHT THIS SECOND, that's self-perpetuating defeatism. *shrug*
Have some ice cream, even if it's low-fat frozen yogurt. Have a drink at the club and dance. Do horizontal aerobics. :-P
Beating yourself up is lousy exercise.
What do YOU want? Don't give a fuck what everyone else wants, or thinks they want. Want to be happy. Want to be loved. Want friends. Want whatever. You have a lot. Be greedy, it's YOUR happiness.
Seems to me this chick doth protest too much. ;-)
(I could probably go on and on and on about this, but I feel like ass and am not making the slightest bit of coherent sense.)
