four am is a shitty fooking time to have to wake up after a late night at a bar under the best conditions. to follow that immediately by standing in a chilly rain, fighting through airline security, only then to collapse in an over-chilled promenade which is being sonically punctuated by iterations of "HEY, MOTHERFUCKER, IF YOU DON'T GET ON THE PLANE RIGHT FUCKING NOW, YOUR ASS CAN WALK TO PALM SPRINGS" for the other passengers. . .

Let's just say that today was one of the few times in my healthy adult life that an afternoon nap took priority - mid-sentence in "Neverwhere," actually.

In other news - K's brother's wedding was very very nice - the bride looked amazing, her family (whom I had not previously met) were wonderful people, and the band at the reception (jazz/swing - playing all of the wedding standards, without the egregious bullshit of the chicken dance or the electric slide) was phenomenal - the female vocalist looked like a high school math teacher, and sounded like ella fitzgerald - utterly amazing (especially since i don't go in for that kinda music).

New York's weather sucked - low 50's & drizzle sucked when I was local, too, so i'm not some soft southern pansy - it's almost June. Wonder what the greenhouse-effect tree-huggers have to say about that, or the record cold back home all winter? heh.

finally got to the Belvue bar in Hell's Kitchen - fuckin' a, that's a great jukebox and one of the nastiest men's rooms ever.

Had more to say, got sidetracked. Three hundred messages and umpteen-million message board posts will do that to a guy.
