Coolest item of the weekend was the consolation prize for not getting to
critus' place - the opportunity to handle the Florida Panther cub. She's eight pounds of blue eyes, spots, and claws. Wide array of vocalizations, almost none of which sound like a cat (the purr is the only one - she mostly chirps and whistles at this point - if you remove the effects processing, the velociraptors' vocalizations from Jurassic Park were pretty obviously sampled from Mountain Lions - audio available at the bottom of the linked page).
So, yeah. I got to play chew toy and climbing tree. Wisely, I wore jeans and boots. Unfortunately, I don't have a digital camera.
Also hand-fed a couple of Wolf's Guenons and let the 'roo out to hop around K's office at the zoo for his evening bottle.
Other than that, it was a quiet weekend for the most part, and a much-needed bit of sleep was caught up on, though that was lightly fucked by what we think was a police search flashlight spooking K around 2:15 this morning.
