I can be nice, even when I'm being a pain in the ass, and just totally blew a cold-caller's mind.
Caller: "I'm calling on behalf of Verizon FiOS. Would you be interested getting in the Starz/Showtime package free for the first three months?"
Me: "No. But if you can substitute NFL Sunday Ticket or NHL Center Ice, let's talk."
Funny, they don't have the authority to do that. Oh well. I'm still thinking that I should just turn off my cable service altogether, since I don't even watch (I totally missed Shark Week, FFS), but I am hoping to be a little more attentive to the NFL & NHL seasons this year, if only because I'm probably going to move my computer into a room that actually has line-of-sight to the TV (and I've got the netbook now, so chatting while watching a game is viable).
Trying to watch through a wall is... problematic.
Still mentally faffing about with how to rearrange the house. All I know for certain is that I don't want the computer and the bed in the same room, because the former puts off too much damn heat, and there's no airflow to get the warm out of the bedroom.
