So, a minor annoyance, because otherwise, it's a fairly lovely day so far (discussing interesting dreams and being generally geeky with CS, making coffee, talking to cats. Like one does)....
WHAT THE SHITFLINGING DOGFUCK, YAHOO, YOU BROKE YOUR FUCKING MAIL UX.
Fine, yeah, you bought tumblr, so you want to get their up-arrow go to top hover button all up in everyone's shit. That's fine, and as someone who uses infinite-scroll as my preferred mechanic when actually reading tumblr, it makes sense there. IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE AS AN AID TO NAVIGATION OF ONE'S INBOX.
But that's the minor gripe. The big one is that, if you close your browsing session, Yahoo has decreed that everyone gets their newest email at the top of their inbox, regardless of where you actually want it (I prefer to sort my mail with the oldest message at the top, for reasons that will become clearer in a moment). STOP OVERRIDING USER SETTINGS, SHITBISCUITS.
Compounding the stupidity and perfidity of the Yahoo sort style is the fact that, if you delete a message, you are taken to the next message *down* in your inbox. When one has them sorted chronologically top to bottom, this means that you read the messages in the order in which they're received... and with Yahoo's way, you read the *newest* message first, and then progress back up any conversational chains... it's like institutionalized fucking top-posting.
