Glad to hear AJ's sales numbers are doing well; this bodes well for my continued freelance shenanigans, even through I historically undervalue/under-charge for my services.
I was recently approached by another author, who was quoted an hourly rate about 3-4x what that article cites; my own ballpark of "this is what I charge for computer work in my off-time, so... slightly less than that, because this isn't an irritating extension of my day job" is appropriately ballparked, so that may be bearing some fruit.
Unknown friends-of-friends discovered, via the bookface, that I was the editor of note on AJ's stuff and expressed pleasure at reading the series; this is heartening.
I have been very half-assedly considering writing fanfic in that world. I am not going to until I've had the opportunity to 1. horrify AJ with the prospect, 2. get her thoughts on whether or not my crap would be canon, and 3. horrify AJ with the prospect some more. ;-)
I totally admit I am making this up as I go along.
Need to get back under the bar tonight, shoulder and elbow crankiness be damned. I got the new bar to play with as a self-gift, and it happened to arrive on my birthday, so today's my first bench session to put it to work.
