Feral. Totally
He got a clean bill of health from the vet (just some scabbing remains), and so we “celebrated” by getting a reflective collar with a name/address/phone number capsule attached to it, in lieu of chipping for the time being. Name, address, phone number, and "DO NOT TNR MY CAT” on the reverse side.
My plan is to let him out during the day once I go back to work after D*C and surgery, and bring him in at night. I'm hoping he'll sow some oats, since he's got a year's seniority on the male bear and hero kittens (Kodiak, Rorschach, and Ten), and Tiny, who is about Magellan's age, is the oldest intact female (Kirk is also a girl). (This is a relatively good braid of male lineage - Magellan is from During's line, Kodiak is from Rufus', and R&T are from Mayday's... I'm hoping that Tiny had a girl or two[1], or that a couple of animals from the colony that lives at the inexpensive, long-stay motel two short blocks away on the same side of the major thoroughfare come over to interbreed.)
[1] I haven't yet spotted Tiny's 5-6 week old litter, so I don't know how many there are or their gender distribution. I expect to find them nibbling on kibble any day now and hope to make inroads socializing them at that time.
