News and a Poll

First, some good news.

My sunroof is finally closed. Free of charge. Audi & the dealership will be getting thank-you notes. I'll be spending my lunch hour removing duct-tape adhesive residue from my roof, but am not tweaked by this.

Had a lovely afternoon with sabinenotagoth and axissilverhand yesterday, eyepatches firmly in place (Aside to Axis: you left your spindle of disks on our dining room table, it's safe and will be returned when next we meet) when we weren't laughing like complete headcases.

The parentals are due into town at 4pm. We're doing dinner in before they hit their hotel. Afterwards, we might actually hit the club. Egads!


1. What was your biggest accomplishment this year?
The NOLA move? Definitely the biggest event of the year. Not sure how I feel about any accomplishments, per se.

2. What was your biggest disappointment?
Discovering that, despite my education and skills, I very nearly ended up with a $7/hr job out of necessity. It's humbling to be so bluntly reminded the world at large doesn't think I kick ass.

3. Will you be making any New Year's resolutions?
No. I can make them any day, and often do.

4. Where will you be at midnight? Do you wish you could be somewhere else?
We'll either be at our place, hanging out with my parents, or at the club. I don't have a whole lot of planning involved here.

5. Aside from (possibly) staying up late, do you have any other New Year's traditions?
I get morose and surly and usually try to watch a comedy while drinking anything but champagne. I despise NYE with a passion rivalled only by my disgust for Valentine's Day.

w00t! Congrats on the sunroof hon!! Have a great visit with the 'rents, and I hope this weekend rawks for you now that things are falling into place. :) As for me, I think I'll go play EverCrack and listen to Skinny Puppy. Good way to get over the holiday blahs; beat things to death (virtually) and listen to completely senseless yet agrroangsty industrial. ;D

But the guy was nice and straightforward about things. I was honestly surprised that there was no charge. This goes a long way towards easing my pissed-offness, though I'm still not going to trade my car in there for a VW. Looks like Froederick will be my chariot until we leave NoLa, whenever that happens to be.

I'm glad the majority of the holiday angst has passed, though once NYE is done with, I'll feel better. [Rafe is anti-NYE the way the English are pro-Soccer.]

Mmmmm. . . skinny puppy. Definitely hunt down their remix of "Stinkfist" by Tool, and their cover of "Tainted Love." Totally kickin'.

Congrats on the righteous smackdown, my friend. I am glad that the Audi people gave you some decent customer service, finally. And for free, as you deserved! I had to smack the F*rd dealership in a similar vein a few years ago. Very satisfying, that.
