Lawmakers are pissing me off right now. The democrats in the Indiana assembly walked out last night, dooming 130+ bills to failure (important shit like the damn budget!) because they don't like the way those nasty republicans play ball. Losers. I need to be king.

Just because the media shows these things doesn't mean that it's their responsibility to keep your kids from watching it. Parents need to get off their asses and quit looking for people to point fingers at.

Actually, I was watching Shawshank Redemption a few weeks ago while Drew was playing on the floor, ignoring the whole thing. As Clancy Brown beats the fat new guy to death, I noticed that Drew was watching the scene intently. Yoikes! I might have some 'splainin to do. But that was MT fault! Not TBS's fault, or Clancy Brown's fault, or Steven King's fault (he wrote that, ya know.)
So yeah, screw these guys. I'll raise my child without help from DC dumbasses, thanx.

I was prodding twits on the Doonesbury feed this morning, who were saying that they'd claim not to be able to pause their video games when their parents wanted them to do something, by saying, "You know, if you were my kid, I'd just yank the plug out of the wall."

As I see it, this motion would filter too much for the entire public...it doesn't target children, as there is no way *to* target just children (if that is even their impetus to begin with). If not, I don't *need* the Government telling me what I can and cannot watch.
Regarding kids, death is a part of life...violence is a part of life...sex, drugs, and foul language are a part of life. I say let the *parents* decide when they are old enough to be allowed to view such, and then (hopefully) they will *explain* how we, as responsible people in society *should* be treating one another and dealing with these issues. Kids like those at Columbine aren't killing one another because they see shit like this...they're killing one another because they don't *have* parents in their lives talking to them, giving them direction, *parenting* them. It's the disenfranchised youth of America that end up taking on the violence they witness. But, they all witness it eventually, and this interference by Government is not going to make a hill of beans difference to it. Not with a video store on every corner that is willing to rent to anyone on the account regardless of age, and not with personal collections of films of all ratings in near every home in America. It just penalizes the whole country (by directly going against the constitution) for the actions of the few.
And, damn...dance on one of the less crucial ammendments, Senator, but *leave* the 1st alone. Without *that*, there *is* no constitution.
