Today at the office, it's standard-issue weekend wear: combat boots, black workout shirt (short sleeved), and the black utilikilt.

and, yes, [livejournal.com profile] xanyboi, I got to use your line in response to "So, what do you wear under that thing?"[1]

The chief loves it. people who normally don't even make eye contact or nod hello have reacted positively.

[however, just in case someone grumps, I've got a pair of grey microfiber shorts in the car. the fashion patrol came by, noticed that it's of a suitable fit, fabric, and length, scratched their heads, and kept going.]

[1] "My boots." Acknowledgement that I was not the source of that particular bit of cleverness was given.

bwhaha.

So, I'm curious. I completely understand what "professional" length skirt for women means. What's the "legal" skirt length for males? I'm pretty sure they're not going to be doing the "kneel on a yardstick please, sir" test.

the dress code says "no more than three inches above the knee, while standing."

mine, as you've all seen, comes to the bottom or middle of my kneecap, so i'm good by about 4-5"

when you kneel in a kilt (with your upper legs perpendicular to the ground), the hem should just touch the floor.

anyone in a properly-fit kilt is therefore well within the proper skirt-length requirements. :-)

Off-kilter?
Date/Time: 2005-03-04 16:24 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] etcet.livejournal.com
not intended. really.

stop looking at me like that. . . . (you might walk into a post ;-)

i wanted mine to be a shade long, because i have a tendency to walk fast and dance aggressively (as you've seen).

plus, i'm secretly hoping i'll get taller. :-)

Now the kilt I would love to see...not sure if I have.

The tie-dyed skirt on the other hand has been burned deep into the retinas and memory banks to EVER forget... ;)

Bravo, babes!

Flag on the play!
Excessively bad pun on offense.

You just so rawk.

*sigh*
Course, now I'm all depressed and stuff cuz there's an absolute 0% of getting away with a kilt at work, ever. Not even if I was plainclothes.
(and there's no Ren-Fest in my town to go 'uncercover' to)

yeah, that's my domain!

what good is having horribly bad puns for a superpower if everybody else tries to get in on the game! grr!

Ah hun! You are adorable.

Glad the kilt went off without a hitch :)
