Katrina will be on the cusp between Tropical Storm and Hurricane strength when it makes landfall just north of West Palm Beach late Thursday evening, and will lose strength as it tracks WNW towards Gothopia... err, Tampa. Once back over the Gulf, it will regain strentgh and eventually make landfall near the AL/MS/LA border, bringing wet weather to the western FL panhandle, and as far west as Baton Rouge, before turning north and falling apart over land, bringing wet weather to much of the southeast as it's blown east by the gulf stream.

It won't do much other than ruin this weekend's golf for a bunch of old farts - breezy and rainy, and that's about it.

I once went outside when there were tornado warnings/sightings within 20 miles of my house to collect the golf-ball sized hailstones from the ground, wash them off, and use them as ice cubes in my Sprite. Howzat?
