Did a prodigious amount of very little all weekend.
"Very little" included going to the gym, playing altogether too much WoW, and being talked into joining
critus and
netgoth for the Jobsite performance of "Phyro-Giants," which was a hoot, followed by late-night Denny's wrangling.
Peed in a cup this morning to prove I can be a geek.
Have spent the day being minimally productive other than documenting SOPs for all the crap I do at the office, so the next person in won't be completely blind in the snow.
Need to mail in my tax return [K did hers with the nice folks at the place with the green square]. Hooray, refunds. Throw that shit straight at the credit cards. Yee-friggin'-ha.
Tomorrow is my first dental appointment in something like four years. During my x-rays and screening last week, I jotted down, "It's been entirely too long since I've seen a dentist, due to lack of insurance." They were cool, and, much to my relief, only a couple of very minor cavities are in evidence. Oddly, getting the cavities drilled and fillings put in is almost entirely covered by my insurance, but the preventative maintenance to keep my other teeth from needing something similar down the road is almost entirely out of pocket. . . which, inconveniently enough, just about equals what my tax refund will be. Either way, it will be a pleasing novelty to be plaque-free.
On the home front at GMBAN, the new heat pump that I got last year began showing its worth, as our January electric bill dropped by 30%. With frost in the forecast tonight, it's nice to have a heater that can actually keep the house warm without running full-tilt all the time.
Some fuckstick dumped a pickup truck full of construction debris in the alley beside the house on Saturday evening, so I shot a note to the county office, and, at 8:20 this morning, got a very pleasant reply, asking for more information, which I was happy to provide, to which they provided another quick and pleasant response. I still wish I'd gotten the license plate of those bastards who did it, but I have a phone number to call if it happens again, and, in the silver lining department, was somewhat gratified to see the usual throng of traffic through there thwarted this morning. I'm tempted to install caltrops, myself.
