Whaddaya think of these tires?  Or should I stick with a brand I recognize.....?

For $90 a tire, and a slew of good reviews [down here, I don't give a damn for snow performance].... that seems awfully interesting, if only I could find a treadwear rating.

I have had Toyo's in the past and have really liked them. Try to find the treadwear rating before making a decision, though. Get the most out of the $90 a tire!

Add some spinning rims and you are all set. You gotta pimp your ride you know. That's how all the homies do it in Tampa!

the closest i'm going to come to pimping my ride is finally putting window tint on. i've only been meaning to since i bought the car...

with shipping from 1010tires, it comes out to about $110 per, plus whatever it costs to mount/balance/align them. Hmmm.

Tinting is fresh, yo!

Ok seriously though, I have a toyota and have done fine with inexpensive tires. Your toyota is bigger than mine (I have an Echo) so more heavy duty tires may be better. Depends on how much you drive. I am close to work and I rarely travel further than St.Pete so cheap tires are fine for me.

That's a recognized brand, if you're a riceboy.

What I would recommend is to keep an eye on tread - we may not have snow, but we have black ice. The reviews do look good and for the price, not too shabby.

why do i have this urge to put the kicker box back in my car and install a flatulent exhaust pipe that sounds like a rabid chainsaw....?

Dad had Toyo Proxies on the Maxima and was pretty pleased with them.

And yah, it's definitely a recognized brand among riceboys. I don't think any domestics use Toyos as OEM.

I'd find out what you're going to pay for mounting/balancing first. Some places will charge extra if you didn't buy the tires from them. If you're looking at $35/tire, it's not exactly cheaper to order them.

Also check tirerack.com (I think that's the place). They're supposed to have reasonably priced packages and they're contracted with some of the larger chains to get your stuff mounted and balanced at your local places (Pep Boys, Firestone, etc).

Oh yeah, on treadware, I'd only worry about it if you're planning on replacing your car in the next couple of years. For something with a 4.2 rating, I'd expect that you could get at least 35k-45k miles, provided you do the regular rotation and stuff (also find out if that's included).
