The reason I will never cheer for the Canes is Brind'Amour...I hated him in Philly, so now I have an excuse to hate Philly just becuase they are Philly, and still hate the Canes. I do feel for the Canes franchise though, starting out as the Whale and all. But Brind'Amour's existence is enough to make me want to make Congress de-union NC and sell the land for parts.

I would change my name to Goldstein and cheer for Hitler before I would cheer for anything out of Buffalo though...being a Miami fan and all...

Learn your history man, Staal is *not* a rookie (otherwise he could have in theory won the Calder over Ovechkin, Crosby or Phaneuf). Has 162 games (2 seasons). Led his team in goals, assists, points and finished 6th in scoring.

And if nothing else, he had to put up with Brind'amour.

I'd root for Brind'amour to win because when he wins, it's only his name that goes on the cup, not his mug (thank god!). Is there any individual player that you'd root for on the oilers to win a cup?
