Of all the people on my LJ, the only three I would have met without the internet are aishlynn, mighty_man, and yokes1971. valiantra (not on my flist, but I'm on his) is also, arguably, the one to blame for aishlynn's presence in my life. ;-)

The argument can probably be made that I wouldn't have stumbled onto Goth the same way without the nascent online interactions of my college days, which would pare the list to people I got to know independent of the 'net to Steve and Ivan.

There are several folks on my flist (and/or who list me as their friend) who I met in person before I met their internet presence, but I wouldn't have met them had it not been for the internet's influence on my life... basically, anyone I didn't know before moving to PA is the result of teh intarwebs.

Big bunch of goddamned freaks and geeks around here, I tell ya....

thank you for making this post meaningful. the only people I have on my friends list that I didnt meet, directly or indirectly, through the internet are my college friends Kathy and Dani and my brother. I think that's why I found the meme, as it was, irritating. Like, "If you have lungs that make you able to breathe, then post this same sentence in your journal."
