While in no way defending GWB's bizarre economic headbutting (especially the less-taxes-but-lets-spend-more angle), its always sad that punditry trots out the FDR Saved Us bullshit. His policies extended the effects of the Great Depression through wage-freezes, price controls and other crazy shit. And then to bring up the We Had A Surplus weepy crap yet again. Oy. Certainly GWB's record has been up and down like a freaking spastic jumping bean on this, but lets not go back over Teh Stoopid from the past to try to make him look worse. He does that just fine by himself.
