... but if you're this fucking stupid, you ought not to have a job where you can speak to millions of people at a time.

(Note: this is the same bright light who wasn't sure whether the earth is flat not so long ago. Bitch, stop wasting my oxygen.)

[livejournal.com profile] hel_ana was telling me about this last night, with the brilliant summation: "you don't exist".

I'm a big fan of the weighted ballot - the more informed & clueful the citizen, the more their vote counts.

(This concept has resurfaced due to invoking Lou Tafler's Fair New World in a Metaquotes discussion of this same clip; highly recommended if you can find a copy.)

Wowzers! That's some fine thinking there. It'd be so easy to blame the ejumakation system, but with these new fangled intertube thingies, information on any topic is easy to find the answers to. Simply put: a lot of people (on all sides of political spectrums) simply can not be bothered to inform themselves about the simplest underpinnings of reality. I would love to be able to point a finger at a single cause -- some behind the curtain malevolence of tin-hat-wearing proportions -- but it really seems to me that a lot of the hairless apes of this world are actually doing their best to not know or learn in some sort of unconciouss lemming run.

How about they weigh each vote based on IQ? You have an IQ of 130, you get 1.3 of a vote.
