digitaldiscipline: (bitter)
I tend not to be all that interested in the death of famous people. They're celebrities with whom I've never interacted beyond, perhaps, a degree of appreciation of their work, whatever it might have been (and, oftentimes, not even that).

So it was through pure chance[1] that I happened to learn that Martin Streek died yesterday. This was a guy who, while I didn't know him personally, I liked, having listened to his programming for the best part of a decade. I can hear his voice talking... no, enthusing about the cool music he was playing, that nobody else on commercial radio was even touching.

I never made it to the live-to-air event he spun, which is something I regret, doubly so now.

Tell the DJs in your life how much they rock.
