During my tenure at the maritime consultancy in New Orleans, I dealt with a lot of oil rig personnel indirectly - getting foreign nationals permission to work the rigs, checking on deepwater exploration maps for mineral rights, and like that.

I don't recall working on anything specifically for the Deepwater Horizon, but, yeah, this hits a little close to home.
