It's been quite a week.

The good: The shining examples of white trash were evicted from the house across the street on Wednesday in the wake of a loud and violent fight, after which the man of the house broke four windows, trashed the major appliances (which belonged to the landlord), filled the bed with knives (!!!), and threw all the perishable food in the house ALL OVER THE ATTIC. If there's any sympathy to be had, it's for the kids - the daughter (not from the dude in question) was hit by that asshole at least once, and the son (little johnny) is trying to be a good kid, but has shitty role models and is being turned against his mom by his dad. Neither parent is blameless (springer-esque levels of infidelity and stupidity).

I've got an actual, paying personal training client (though I need to settle on a pricing structure). It's cool, but also a little bit of "I want to do well by my client" pressure.

Workouts are returning to something more like normal, and, as mentioned on twitter, I hit my first home run of the softball season on Thursday. SG is getting back on track, and the guest columns at wow.com are bringing in fresh eyeballs.

The not so good: Saturday was an incessant clusterfuck of issues with K's car battery. Needing a jump isn't a big deal. Being given/sold the wrong battery, after asking for the right one by name, is a pain in the ass. Shearing the impossible-to-replace pinch bolt for one of the terminals is an even bigger pain in the ass. Replacing the terminal connector isn't that hard. But, all in all, that was four trips to the auto parts store, ninety bucks out of pocket, and a lot of stress we could have done without.

The indeterminate: It turns out that the one feral cat who had her third litter of kittens was the tip of the iceberg - two others have followed suit, so there are at least six new kittens joining the ranks of the furry horde that calls our porch/yard home. They provide a cuteness service, as well as keep the lizard and cockroach population sharply in check. They also are useful in pointing out to any soliciting creationists that evolution works, bitches, because we have four generations' worth of specimens to study, and, hey, those markings and patterns of coloration sure look inherited to me, wouldn't you say?

In closing: Happy Father's Day to the dads (and other fuckers of mothers) out there.
