Dreamed that Kambriel showed off her hand-dug underground house to me and my parents. Astonishing crafsmanship (perfect corners, textured floor, and the entryway was disguised as a small gully where a couple of groundhogs and kittens lived. I was asking her how she'd dug it herself over a long weekend, because I wanted to (my folks made some slightly critical remarks, both about my penchant for not being as detail-oriented as she is, and also the problems with my sandy soil and water table).

Next door neighbors were killer whales, both two full-sized adults who stuck through the wall of the aboveground portion of their home, and two half-orca/half humans who were hanging out in their driveway, grilling swordfish steaks. They also had a glass-walled entertainment room on top of the hill made with the removed soil.

Recounted this in brief on twitter, which engendered the following convo:

Kambriel: That sounds like a pretty good dream actually! Did I do a good job on the house? ;)
Kambriel: I looked up more info on killer whales (in particular their symbolism), and it makes your dream yet more intriguing... The Haida regarded killer whales as the most powerful animals in the ocean, and their mythology tells of killer whales living in houses, and towns under the sea. According to these myths, killer whales took on human form when submerged & humans who drowned went to live with them.
Kambriel: You know, I'm betting property taxes would be pretty low on a hidden underground lair ;)
Gildedbat: but surely the whales would boost property value. Unless the city was afraid of water damage...
Me: My property taxes are stupidly low on an above ground bungalow. It's my *insurance* that's bending me over and sodomizing my wallet.
Kambriel: I'm just surprised in dreamland etcet's subconscious choose killer whales over sperm whales ;) #Sorry #IWentThere
Kambriel: I love that we've all reached an age where we are considering how dream killer whale abodes affect property/tax values ;)
