digitaldiscipline: (new back)
just had a serious, ten-minute conversation debating the merits and drawbacks to various pre-workout supplements with my boss and the other guy on my team who lifts (the latter is interested in getting his deadlift up after I handed him and his buddy their asses on Saturday).

i'm using a free sample canister of a pre-workout supplement[1] that was a throw-in in a recent order in lieu of coffee for caffeine and hydration and whatnot.

i do have to continue to wax effusive about GAT's muscle martini amino acid cocktail - three liters of that fueled a 2.5 hour workout of doom saturday morning, and, other than being hot and sweaty, was not fatigue-limited (i probably could/should have done some more upper body work; as it was, there was benching, deadlifting, t-bar rows, squats, and hack squats in heavy profusion)

muscle pharm's "assault" in raspberry lemonade; the boss is unimpressed with it, the underling is in my camp as a fan of MP's stuff; the boss likes a bit more kick in his pre-workout stuff, which i usually engender by a) not drinking nearly as much coffee as he does and b) adding extra creatine and beta alanine to my pre-workout custom blend (which is usually 2/3 of a serving of assault mixed with a like amount of nano vapor)

Do you have a write up of your workout routine/nutrition? I want to pass it on to Owen.

i pick up heavy shit five or six days a week, and have started doing some incredibly frustrating and humbling wind sprints as soon as i get out of bed every morning, because my conditioning is for shit right now.

i am actively hateful towards the contractors working on my house at this point, because it's been four goddamned months and I REALLY WANT TO GO BACK TO LIFTING IN MY GARAGE BUT NEED FLOOR SPACE AND ELECTRICITY.

"nutrition" is .... "no beer, no processed carbs, limited booze, fresher fruits/veggies/meats are better." basically, don't eat like an asshole, and i pretty much never eat pre-packaged shit now if i can help it (the exceptions are protein bars, canned tuna and, more rarely, canned veggies or soup when i have nothing else in the house and don't want to go shopping).
