I can bitch about the glacial pace of the renovations (barely) taking place at my house. Since the rapid progress of the framing over Labor Day, the replacing of the roof on my entire house, and a three-day orgy of plywood over Columbus day to get the interior walls and floor up, it's ground to a near fucking standstill, with maybe a day and a half of work happening per week. The new space is bare plywood floors and (finished) drywall everywhere else. the wood for the floor was purchased a month ago and is sitting in my garage, along with stain to finish it. lighting fixtures - purchased and waiting installation. paint for the exterior, left over from when the house was painted previously, for use and color-matching, sitting in the yard (the new exterior section was primed three weeks ago).
the contract for this work was signed in june. work began in july. it was estimated to take ten weeks; we're at sixteen and counting.
i'm probably going to send a not-very-happy email to the general contractor on monday in order to light a fire under him and his crew, because i want this fucking thing done before i travel for the holidays, and five months seems... excessive.
