I'm going back to my original stance - LJ sucks, it keeps us from communicating personally, one-to-one, like real people. So I'm taking a hiatus from it.

I'm not saying it's without worth - clearly, it's useful as an informational clearinghouse ("No, I'm not dead/washed away/etc"), but it seems too prone for public conversational eddies that, for better or worse, I feel would be better handled via private correspondence, or on a specific forum (CorpGoth, for instance).

I guess the critical mass of my circle of friends has been reached here, so that if I -did- abstain from reading LJ altogether, I'd end up losing touch and being left out of their lives (I've been watching it happen *sigh*), but my own starter nuggets will be abruptly curtailed. I find myself with out a hell of a lot to say or report other than angst-ridden navel-gazing or weather updates.

Contrary to my "Blow Me" post, shouting at the void doesn't really do much for me. Perhaps it's ego speaking, but I like that little chime when new email arrives.

"Welcome! You've got friends." [/AOL Vox]

Not that y'all ain't friends, 'cuz ya are, but it's just not the same, at least for me. So I'll blather on your journals, per usual.
