New Orleans police have made an arrest in connection with a string of “smash and grab” robberies in the Uptown, Carrollton and Hollygrove areas.

Tyrone Conner, 30, was arrested on eight counts of simple robbery and a municipal warrant violation.

According to investigators, Conner would approach the vehicles of lone women and smash in the passenger window and then grab their purse.

The series of robberies that police say Conner is responsible for occurred over the past two months.
