snot, fans, assorted weirdness

just because it's going around, literally, the state of the sinuses:

acute pain yesterday [to the point of wanting to yank out molars to see if it'd drain that way], slept like a baby, then ejected a rather stunning quanitity of off-color goo. my left ear, for the first time in quite a while, popped and hears better [though it is refilling slightly]. tylenol sinus jitters compounded by 16 ounces of java goodness. weeeee.

spent a very pleasant quiet first hour at the office exorcizing norton systemworks from the work machine [regedit is my minion - all 247 instances of the word "symantec" BEGONE!] in favor of mcaffee virus scan and swapping the power supply fan in the accounting pc whilst shooting the breeze with mpeace.

still waiting on word back from MSFT. will probably nag the sis tomorrow regarding that, since holiday backlog seems the most likely reason for the lack of response thus far.

rec'd an alarming item in the post today - from MBI, a signed and numbered bottle of hot sauce extract. the warning label says:

Use Extreme Caution.
This is NOT a sauce!
This product must be used as an ingredient only. (1 tsp Blair's 2AM reserve mixed with 1 gallon of sauce will produce extreme heat)
AVOID ANY AND ALL SKIN CONACT!

much like happy fun ball, i'm not even taking it out of it's protective carrying case. it will make a nice monitor adornment.
