This ranks up there with a discussion I received the other day. We already have the AIDS vaccine. The logic goes like this: In the early seventies we stopped giving people Small Pox vaccinations. AIDS appears shortly thereafter and runs rampant. In the last few years we start administering Small Pox vaccine to specific personnel. We noticed that they seem to have an uncanny resistence to AIDS. Turns out AIDS would have spread further and faster but the Small Pox vaccinations were incidentally holding it at bay in western nations.
