I don't need to be bitched at for disagreeing with the government, thanks.

Said to the boss: "I think it's onerous and stupid for us to have to redline every fucking change we make to this 50 page document that they said changes needed to be made to. they asked for the changes - they can either trust our cover letter, or they can read the whole fucking thing."

The point where it all falls down is his fucking paper-happy bullshit. There are probably 7 revisions of this fucking thing on his desk, parts of them on mine with handwritten notes on them... so i finally laid out the solution: "when you're done fucking around with it, i'll go through, line by line, and mark every change by hand, because the government is a bunch of lazy assholes (and you're too fucking flighty to adhere to whatever change management process I've tried to implement)."

which would arguably work [hell, even word's 'track changes' would], but i'm not the only person making soft copies. . . and the boss is one of those assholes who makes a change, turns it in to be implemented, changes his mind back, wants a printout, works on something unrelated, and then makes the same change in a different place.

it's easy to spot where he's gone manic in the revision process, because instead of saying something once, clearly, it says it three times, poorly.
