No, lady, it's -not- safer. If someone's speeding and the light changes too quickly, the speeder is going to T-bone the poor bastard on the perpendicular road if they can't stop in time.

trystbat, keep an eye on the local news; dollars to donuts, there's going to be an uptick in accidents at this intersection. . . either that, or people will know how -much- they need to speed to beat the quicker signal, which will result in -more- fast driving.
