Is it worth pointing out that Pontius Pilate did his best to get Jesus released? That he maybe didn't have the manpower to refuse the unruly mob, when they didn't take him up on it?
That if he did, Christ was crucified due to Pilate being "sensitive" to ethnic folkways?
Sensitivity to ethnic folkways is the main killer in the Middle East. True, the proximate cause of death is explosives and suchlike, but these would be harmless if not impelled by ethnic folkways.
