in addition, the executioner is shown wearing a large gold ring, and muslims are prohibited from wearing gold.

I don't believe a word of it, BUT......I concede there might be some truth to the rantings on that topic.

IF Nick Berg was killed by the CIA, then perhaps an armed revolt and a hanging of certain residents of DC is appropriate.

Frankly, even if he isn't. . . i think your second line is a darn fun weekend idea anyways.

[xposted from [livejournal.com profile] rachelll's journal]

I'm increasingly disgusted and disillusioned at the abuse of public trust systematically engaged in by the current administration. Everyone agrees that you should only trust a politician as far as you can throw them, but these people are encasing themselves in neutron star overshoes when they're not actively running the opposite direction.

Public faith in the government's duty, much less ability, to look out for the good of the citizens is at an historic ebb. Patriot Act, etc, etc - hi, get the fuck away from my civil liberties, you assholes, or I will make vigorous use of my Second Amendment rights.

The fact that it's -easy- to believe that the people who murdered Nic Berg might be Americans (http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/) and that the conspiracy theories hold more water than the policy of lies that seems to be the coin of the realm of the current administration. . . it makes me feel ill and shake my head and wonder, "Gee, I wonder how the job market in New Zealand is?"

I love my country and hate our government. However, short of revolt or wholesale slaughter of the entrenched power mongers, I'm drawing a blank.

I'm sick of choosing the lesser of two evils every four years.

"Gee, I wonder how the job market in New Zealand is?"

In answer to your question...Not very good! If so, I would have been back in Queenstown at the end of last year. It is very hard to get a work permit in Commonwealth countries if you are an American citizen. Plus, most of the country is farmland and the cities that do have availbility for jobs have very few jobs. Try Australia. They email me several times a week with job offers!

Let's not even get into the lack of arterial spurts when they supposedly cut off his head, or the fact that the blood pooling pattern was all wrong. (Any cop, EMT, or other person who has dealt with similar scenes can tell you that.) Deliberately pixelated poor quality video, convenient fuzz at the moment of "death", absolute lack of struggle or kicking reflex, crappy accents that don't quite add up...

I have no doubt that Nick is dead. I have many about when and how he died.

The whole situation disgusts me. I hate conspiracy theories a lot. Hell, I didn't even like the X-Files. [grin] It is awful that it's impossible to analyze the situation rationally without setting foot into tinfoil hat country. I hate having to think like that, but when it's clear that the public is being lied to and the media is being fed disinformation (at best) or deliberately manipulating the public (at worst)... ugh.

This is quite likely to turn into another "Who Shot JFK?" sort of situation. I doubt we will ever get conclusive evidence, and I can't tell you how galling that is. I'm very much with you on the "love my country, hate my government" thing. Ugh.

I'm sorry, hon. Could I trouble you for an email with the links to that Canadian citizenshop stuff?

Sedition doesn't seem to work without an armory to back it up, I'm afraid.
