Short form: much driving, much sweating, much swearing.

I'm here, K's back in NOLA, my first day on the job was hamstrung by my lack of any kind of computer to use.

My house-to-be is fucking beautiful inside, and anyone who wants to attend a sledgehammer party to knock over the garage is welcome to show up after I close on 7/22.

K has been heard to mutter about looking at paint chips. "No orange, no pink, no yellow. Go nuts." I'm all about the greys and blues and violets.

The kitchen is even more yellow than the pix suggested. The bathroom is incredibly turquoise. I have a yard. And youngish (30-ish) neighbors who don't appear to mind music being played at, uh, "social" volume.

I've been essentially offline since Friday. I have no idea WTF is going on with anyone. P The wireless access in my room is spotty, and this is with a brand-new wireless router because I inadvertently let the magic smoke out of Sil & Bob's first one. D'oh.

Nothing bouncing for you from involving any combination of from or host names that include the strings "southwest" "swa". I'm seeing mail coming in from them to you, in fact. Log coming to you in email. Any idea of fingerprints that might be involved in the missing bits?

And how on earth did you kill a wireless router? Plug in the wrong wallwart?

Ouch. That's a drawback to standardized plugs, innit?

it's too bad no one's ever got a standard accepted for power ratings on those connectors, so that (e.g) 3.5mm outside diameter is *always* 12v, negative tip is *always* barrel connectors instead of ring-and-tip, etc.

That's twice I've heard it explained like that this week.

My friend Joel's an electrician, and because he's a smartarse, and I don't grok electricity, he straight-faced swore to me that it's very simple. Electricity = Smoke, and if something is smoking, it's broken because you let the electricity out and fucked it up.

Just *see* if I help him with plumbing problems.

Good luck with picking paints you both like :>

I've done things like that. But I expect that of me since I'm not mechanically inclined much.
