Removal of Squidgy Bits - Info Needed

Okay. Upon further review, it might be my Internal Lawyer. . . . err, appendix.

Who's had theirs out? What did it entail [procedure, convalescence, cost]? I am, as you say, clueless.

As someone whose last hospital stay was several years ago [head trauma - staples and x-ray], and who's never had any working bits yanked out, I'm in the dark here.

So, that's where things are at for the moment. That said, I still feel leagues better than this time yesterday - then again, napping all day on the couch, getting a good night's sleep, and not having spent the last several hours throwing up tend to have that effect. ;-)

Okay, okay, I get the hint.

My coworker Don is going to drive me to Charity Hospital here in New Orleans so I can go to the ER [since that's what the nurse I spoke with said was the right way to approach matters].

The hospital's phone # is 903-3000.

So, I may be offline for a day or two if it's an in-patient thing, or may be back tonight if it's something else.

If nothing else, it'll be my first time under general anaesthetic [my wisdom teeth were done under local]. I figure that'll be akin to my Intro to Sociology course in terms of mental activity. Heh.

Worry if you must, but. . . *shrug*

I'll be fine.

Well. . .

That was uneventful.

Ten hours in the "Fast Track" admitting waiting room later, with no consultation, and not so much as an ETA, Our Hero, with Heroine in tow, said "Fuck it," and went to dinner.

If anything suspicious comes back, I'm beating a path to a -different- ER. There were people in much more obvious pain than I was who had been there an hour and a half longer. Nice.
