Okay, not necessarily the most original utterance, but it'd been a long day.

The structural engineer the seller brought in made his report on Saturday, and the gist of it boiled down to [over the course of several conversations among him, the seller, the seller's agent, my agent, and my building inspector], "There are two structural members/boxes that absolutely need to be replaced, and the rest of the bug stuff is all cosmetic and superficial."

The seller is fixing all of the shortcomings my building inspector included in his report on Friday - structural and cosmetic alike, even a pair of minor plumbing and wiring items. My closing date won't even change, assuming the repair work meets with my inspector's followup inspection.

So, K & I will finally be checking out the house and meeting GB this weekend (Monday morning, before K heads back). We're excited, obviously.

Between that bit of good news, and checking out K's brother's pictures of their trip to Italy to see his wife's family's old stomping grounds and unwinding, it was a nice way to end what was otherwise a long, tough day.

Back to NOLA tomorrow PM (and maybe catching "Day After Tomorrow" to unwind), and then the last of the preliminary packing (with a short bit of unpacking, as one of the NOLA folks mentioned an interest in some of the CDs I've been wanting to unload, and the four of us will be doing dead cow on Friday) before we mini-caravan on Saturday.
