Christ on a stick, it's 246-195 Bush (per the CNN poll of the moment).

A third of a bottle of coconut rum, and an unknown quantity of Clan MacGregor scotch later, I'm not sure I can even reliably count to 270 anymore.

I have been un-subtly petitioned to attend C11:SD already, however. And hotels have been contacted re: C12:Tampa.

I'd emigrate to Canada if GWB wins, but I think I'm still an "undesirable immigrant".

That's the figure NPR this morning said was the voter turnout for 18-24 year olds.

Was "Vote or Die" too fucking ambiguous?

The 16% figure for 18-29 is just pathetic. I know that my flist is not a representative cross-section, and that nearly all of you did your civic duty.

I'm nauseated that, despite record numbers of voters turning out in many states, the people who will live with (and suffer most from) the results of this election stayed away in droves. The fact that the election is even this close, and that GWB has the popular majority despite obvious and grotesque flaws. . . who the fuck are these people I share a country with?

I looked over my choices, and came to the same unpleasantly surprising realization that [livejournal.com profile] thewronghands did: I hold a minority opinion on just about every issue.

- John Kerry: Lost in Florida
- Parental notification of abortion: Passed in a landslide
- Slot machines OK in Miami: still too close to call

It's difficult to put into words just how disappointed I am. This isn't a well-mannered dog chewing up your favorite slippers or pissing on the couch. This is your best friend handing your mother an anthrax tablet and saying it's a multivitamin.

I feel sick when I think about being an American today. I tried. I voted. My conscience is clear, but I still want to reach for the ammo box.

The "I wasn't using those civil liberties anyway" sticker has been affixed to Zim's liftgate.

Renewed intentions for getting [livejournal.com profile] wildturkeyparty some legitimacy and actual political traction.

Serious consideration being given to exercising my Second Amendment rights, but it's not in the present budget.

I'm not leaving the country. I'd much rather drive the asshats out of mine.

Who's with me?

That's how long Asshole-Elect Shrub to resume lying to us in his acceptance speech.

"Our military has brought honor to America."

Gru, no offense meant to you and your mates, but these besuited assholes seem to have conveniently forgotten all about Abu Ghraib and Gitmo. I don't think those soldiers brought America any pride at all.

Somebody, please [censored for reasons of national security] the auditorium to pre-emptively clean the White House four years early.
