Four days post-op, some slight bruising showed up along the edge of the bicep whose tendon was relocated. This isn't even the most interesting bruise I've ever had in that spot - when I strained (and possibly partially tore) the tricep on that arm, I had a lot more coverage with a wider variety of festive colors. My PR bruise remains the 6"x12" rainbow-hued monster on the inside of my left thigh I got when I totally failed to stick the landing when testing out the bike jump ramp I initially built for C14. There's a bit of an ache inside the joint, as if I've gotten some deep-seated beestings (due to warmth, stiffness, and swelling at the site, despite near-constant use of the cold water circulation cuff - its efficacy at the most-needful area is blunted fairly adroitly by the dressing; I will get to remove that for the first time tomorrow to take what is going to be a very thoroughly enjoyable half-body bath with careful cloth cleaning of the site). I'm interested to see how things look on the surface under the dressing, but even more curious to see the before-and-after action shots of the inside; the orthopedist showed them to CS while I was in the recovery room, and her descriptions are tantalizing as far as illustrating the work that was done.

As far as things to do to keep my mind off of not being able to do much with my arm, it's basically been a low-energy staycation: surfing the 'tubes, some video game playing, a lot of cat antics, and watching some stuff on Amazon Instant that I'd previously not made the time to check out - My Neghbor Totoro at CS' insistence (I am too culturally ignorant of the context to get much out of it at the meta-analysis level; nor have I got enough opiates in my system to be completely enthralled by how completely fucking weird it is... this is the same shortcoming I have with a lot of Japanese animation; I more or less enjoy Akira but am probably missing huge swaths of freighted meaning because I'm outside the conversation it's commenting on) - and, finally, Game of Thrones. As of the beginning of the second season, GoT does subtlety, intrigue, and nuance just slightly less hamfistedly than most American shows with which I'm familiar; it's Machiavelli as rendered in bloody iron Duplo blocks.

Kirk is going to the vet today - her nose has stopped generating huge gouts of green and yellow goo, but it's still running freely, and now her eyes are as well, and this is after a week's course of Clavamox and l-lyseine twice a day. She and Magellan are getting along better, and have each put on a pound[1] over the last week or so, and are otherwise energetic. Mote and Speck have both been touched, though not caught up for gender checking or anything yet.

[1] Two days post-op, due to approximately a gallon of fluid retention, I weighed over 200# for the first time in my life; that's finally abated and I'm back down to 194, and my feet aren't ridiculously swollen. But, yeah, I am looking forward to being able to be more active than just waving my arm around carefully, stretching it gently, and shuffling around the house or to the grocery store/diner and buying a shitload of ice to restock the cold pump; I'm going through about 20# of ice a day... because I am a goddamned mammal. :-)
