Just in case this hasn't been brought to everyone's attention, C11 isn't a two-horse race. There are four different cities who've submitted bids to host C11, though not all four have their content live and in living pallor as yet.

Up as of 9/30:

http://www.altgothic.com/c11sandiego/

Pending as of 9/30:
http://www.altgothic.com/c11charlotte/
http://www.altgothic.com/c11sanfrancisco/

I'm looking forward to seeing what each bid has on offer before folk make up their minds. Take a couple of weeks to learn what's out there before the vote is called, then decide.

Remember - it's a party. This is supposed to be fun.

Ah, thanks. I'm not allowed to travel in May, so I'll probably be voting for a Convergence I can actually attend.... thanks for being cool and listing the other options :-)

Not allowed to? Why? *baffled* [I would like to point out that Tampa's bid is right at the very end of the month, FWIW :-)]

I don't see any reason not to list all the possibilities and encouraging people to comparison shop. Would it be cool if the one I'm involved with won? Sure. Would it also be cool to get a chance to visit someplace I've never been (SD, SF) or have liked (Charlotte)? Absolutely.

I don't have to worry about which bid wins, because I plan on having a good time regardless.

No one in my department is allowed any time off during Sweeps months. That's February, May, and November. End of the month doesn't help me, unfortunately :-(

I could always do the fly out Friday night, and back early Monday morning, but I did that for C10 and it's not an experience I care to repeat...

Also, and this is utter hearsay on my part, wasn't there some noise being made about a potential Philly bid? Or do I have my wires crossed for something else? *shrugs*

I'd forgotten that, but now that you mention it, I do know someone here who wants to put a bid in sometime. Haven't heard anything about it materializing, though. Philly's had Projektfest, and always has the Dracula's Ball, though, so personally I wouldn't be likely to vote for it for Convergence. I like the change of scenery.

I'm definitely eager to check out the Tampa goth scene! It just won't be in May.

San Diego or SanFran. I'll take any excuse to go back to SF.

But to be honest, I am soooooo over Convergence. I must e getting old.

Come for the party. Stay for the experienced hangover cures. ;-)

I like Margaret's idea. I can't make the one in San Diego at all. So for me, the dates are the most important. So if it's San Diego, I'm going to go party elsewhere. :-)
