It was an enjoyable time, whacking a defenseless ball around a hilly backyard.  The fact that the whole light grid for the course went down the instant my ball went into the hole at the end of the first round was kind of ominous, however.  It didn't stop us from taking another lap of the nine available holes under cover of darkness (arbitrary ground rule: deduct one stroke per hole as a Gloom Bonus, translating birdies into batsies, and the unlikely event of an eagle into a bald raven *grin*).

I still drive like Happy Gilmore (run up to the ball, follow through like a hockey player).  I'd feel bad about it, but 300 yards and straight is not exactly something I'm unhappy with. ;-)

But it makes me wonder. . . which is the better sports comedy - Caddyshack or Slap Shot?

Still 179.
Still not King.
Definitely not Tiger Woods.

179 pounds. *laugh*

It's a fun little course. You should come visit so you can play it, and then hit the clubs with us afterward. *grin*

Major League

But Caddyshack's got a place in the pantheon.

Dear God. What's a bald raven?

traditionally, a hole that's scored two under par (the recommended score) is called an eagle. the most famous eagle (at least 'round heah) is the bald eagle.

we needed something spooky (or at least dark) and roughly analogous. *laugh*

179? Ah, no way you're that old. You don't look a day over 120. ;)
