I mean, not that an engineering degree would have me skipping down the streets, flinging daisies about, either, I suspect. . .

Degree in English?

I hate to think of how that is applied.

I talk over the heads of my coworkers a lot. Beyond that, I play dictionary and thesaurus.

Dost thou want fries with that?

Re: engineering. When I applied to colleges, my dad the engineer said, "Whatever you do, don't become an engineer." ;)

Psychology (my undergraduate study) is fairly useless as well industry-wise, unless you immediately go to graduate school.

Heh. I read the Dilbert comic to a friend of mine and immediately followed with, "Do you want fries with that?" before I read your post.

>I talk over the heads of my coworkers a lot.

In talking with friends... easier and more often than those with a degree in History (and lacking a teaching license -- of course the same applies to the English major).

I've got you beat. I think a degree in Holocaust Studies is *far* more useless.

Yes, it is. But much more pretentious. ;-)

(but I've consistently been employed in my field..unlike many I know).

Your field sounds just fascinating, actually.

Try a perforing arts degree for the perfectly worthless fit; a little snug around the shoulders?
