WTF?

Mid-conversation on Y!M, I get punted off, with a notification that it says I may have logged on from another computer.  Subsequent login attempts to both Y!M and Yahoo Mail fail, even when I correctly key in the visual challenge text.

What. The. Fuck??!?!?!?

I don't/can't do Y!M at the office, but I do check my email there. I did log into it while on the boat due to the mpeace hunting thing. *shrug*

OK, you're the 3rd person today to say something weird is up with Yahoo! -- one said his brother got a spurious message from him while he (the "sender) was asleep, while another who couldn't access their Yahoo! mail.

Well, I can't log into any of my yahoo services (YM, mail, or just the 'my yahoo' web page). It would be trivial to get a new one, other than the fact that [unspecified PITA agency or two] has it as my contact address, and they're royal fucks to implement changes with.

if I can get in, dump my stuff, and scavenge my contact list, I'll happily blow it away and start anew. it's basically been a spambucket for online shopping endeavors (including my lj), but it pisses me off that my main IM client is fux0red at the moment.

If others have also been having troubles with authentication on Yahoo systems, then it will probably just go away on its own. The thing I was most worried about (that the account was now 0wnd by some random cruiser) doesn't seem as likely.
