Bush Says Stop Calling My Stupid Idea Stupid.

ETA: "To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." - Theodore Roosevelt

Because we all know that anyone who suggests that the White House's ideas and plans are not the best solution is UNAMERICAN and is HELPING THE TERRORISTS WIN.

Christ, this shit just gets deeper and dumber every time I look at it, no matter what aspect of policy he's fucking with. The fact that I had to talk down a very strident pro-reform asshat in the break room yesterday doesn't make me a whole lot more receptive to the notion (look, jackoff, I don't care if you were a Poli-Sci major, that doesn't mean you know shit about economics; how about you tell me what Bush's plan -is- and why it's an improvement, instead of just repeating rhetoric at ever-increasing volume about how the present system will be bankrupt in 40 years).

Frankly, I'm still trying to figure out how privatization of SocSec is different from making 401(k) contributions. I forsee a lot of Mutual Funds becoming popular nest egg options for the relatively risk-averse.

That doesn't strike me as a completely bad thing if that's the case, assuming the economy doesn't go in the shitter as a result of horrible economic policy and. . . uh. . . spending that supports continued growth (like, say, education *cough*). . .

Well, shit.

Would someone please remove the administration from the vest pocket of big business and shoot it, please?
