Going to the gym tonight, with Stereotypical Cycling Instructor B (very gay bald 40-something male named Bruce, as distinct from SCI A (Topographically Enhanced and Incredibly Perky woman named Michelle), or SCI C (Rail-Thin and Inexhaustible girl named Christie)).
Bruce takes hand-in mix CD's, and because I'm sick to fucking death of bad modern covers of Oldies (have you -heard- what No Doubt did to "California Dreamin'" or what travesty has been foisted on "Boys of Summer"? Mein Gott. At least the cover of "Run to You" is less awful, and the song about vibrators that opens with Beethoven's Fifth is amusing).
"So, what -do- you listen to, Rafe?" Jaime, the hospitality manager of the local Doubletree (host location to FetishCon, among other things) asks. She already knows the answer.
"Something with crunchy bits, like angry germans chewing up emo kids."
So I'm bringing fifty one minutes' of "go" tonight.
1. Skinny Puppy - Tainted Love (you want covers? I got your cover RIGHT HEAH)
[4:00 - warm up, settle in]
2. Prodigy - Firestarter (Empirion Remix)
[7:50 - pick up speed, occasional sprint intervals]
3. Front 242 - Headhunter (unspecified remix)
[6:50 - hills. stomp, stomp, stomp, go.]
4. Rob D - Clubbed to Death (Hybrid Mix)
[4:28 - recovery, with speed/resistance intervals]
5. Apoptygma Bezerk - Kathy's Song (Beborn Benton Remix)
[5:21 - alternating hills and speed sections. sing-along optional when NOT AFRAID!]
6. Noise Unit - Other World
[6:09 - crunch into hills, see also: Track 3]
7. God Module - Resurrection
[4:14 - recovery, speed or resistance intervals)
8. Velvet Acit Christ - Futile (Resisted Remix by Funker Vogt)
[5:30 - sprint intervals with hillclimb "rests"]
9. Juno Reactor - Pistolero (Hang 'em High Remix by Fluke)
[5:19 - sustained medium resistance, with a couple speed intervals to work out the kinks]
10. Underworld - Cowgirl
[9:50 - you made it! cooldown, stretch, curse instructor]

Also. Rafe - Pistolero is one of the greatest dance songs ever. You can club swing yourself to death with that... My dance instructor nearly fell over himself when I gave him the Once Upon A Time In Mexico cd at me & hubby's last lesson. :>

however, getting it played at the club here is nigh unto impossible, which is why it usually finds its way onto the mix cds i make.
