So, Friday's stellar mood stuck around, through a pleasant (if ultimately unsuccessful) night of gaming, IMs, and assorted silliness. Saturday saw us being productive early on (mowed the lawn, did the dishes, vacuumed, did laundry) in preparation for
tylorael's visit. Since she got an early start, we ended up waiting to do sushi for lunch.
Not that it would have mattered if we'd gone earlier, both places we tried weren't going to open until 17:00 anyway. Fishmongering bastards. Instead, we got big-ass burritos, and the ladies went a-shopping while I geeked out. Then it was dinner and a brief nap time after a drive-by of GMBAS, preparatory for the club-based nuptials between
tomakins and
blood4fngrpaint, which was, in essence, the perfect wedding - ten minutes of friends, family, cake, and Skinny Puppy. ;-)
Afterwards, the usual suspects coalesced around topics like the death of the industrial grinding sound, old-school video games, feminine pulchritude, etc. Unexpected people danced and drank, expected people unexpectedly didn't, and pleasantly catty remarks were bandied about by (and towards) all and sundry before we called it a night.
Sunday was breakfast and light yardwork in and among gaming, and then an inexplicable crash (mind and body) around 4:00.
Today is the WW weigh-in at the office, which I'm ambivalent about, and my regular chiropractor being back from vacation, which I'm looking forward to (the fill-in Dr, while technically competent, wasn't nearly as thorough, and that, combined with the impending stress of our high-profile tour tomorrow, has my neck and shoulder in an uncomfortable state, though K's crunching me last night helped a bunch).
Book Status: Brave New World (
deviathan is to blame)
Lawn Status: Mowed
Beard Status: Endangered (better look clean, or at least young, when we're pimped out, I suppose)
Still Not King
