Having read Orwells 1984 and Animal Farm, and knowing as I do that it was on the required reading list for a lot of others growing up, I am wondering why more people aren't completely terrified at this and other seemingly deliberate misdirections and deceptions on the parts of our government agencies and officials?
The next step is for our government to simply dole out large chunks of change to their own interests (Why is Halliburton in Iraq *and* NOLA? Does the word "Cheney" mean anything to anyone?) without actually requiring any sort of actual work or product in return.
